Frequently asked questions
What happens during a treatment ?
On the first visit we will carry out a consultation where we will discuss symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and what you would you like to achieve from the treatment.
The massage will be performed whilst you lie comfortably on a massage couch, using oils/wax, sometimes without. You will be asked to undress up to your underwear and will be fully draped. I will expose areas that I will work on. Depending on the length of the treatment and your needs it can include the whole body or focused areas. Adaptations are made based on your necessities. Sometimes I treat people seated with clothes on if it is more appropriate.
Communication during the treatment is key. If you have any discomforts, techniques are unpleasant or you simply don’t like a particular technique let me know and we will find another way. For me it is important that you feel comfortable and relax. The more relaxed and comfortable you are, the more the body and mind will relax and soften.
After the massage you will be left for a moment to ground yourself and change . We then will have a chat about the treatment, some easy after care, and potential treatment plan.
Can I have a massage?
Massage is considered to be a safe therapy however I need to be aware of any contraindications to protect you, myself and other clients. In some cases your doctor may need to be consulted, with your permission, to see if massage is appropriate and safe.

Common Local contraindications (massage may be performed avoiding the affected area)

What to expect after treatment?
Most people feel a deep state of relaxation sometimes accompanied by tiredness. You might also experience tenderness, soreness, redness on the treated areas. This is completely normal. It’s part of the healing process and can last a few days. I recommend you take the rest of the day easy after a massage.
How often should I come?
I really recommend that you get into a regular schedule that works for your time and finances. The cumulative effect of massage is better than coming in an ad-hoc irregular occasions. If there is a particular pathology I like to see you within a six week window starting with once a week for the first three weeks, then we will re-asses and if feasible we will move it to every two weeks or monthly.
Does deep tissue need hurt?
No! When I work I will work with your threshold. What does this mean? If you think of a pain scale 1-10, 10 being very painful, then I will not work more then a 6. Your feedback is important. The reason why we won't go more then that is that your brain is made to protect you. If I start creating a painful situation your tissues will go against me and we won't be able to work.
Instead we need to work with the tissues and allow the tissues to melt.
How can I pay?
Bank transfers need to be made in advance of your booking.
What if I have to cancel?
Cancellations can be made 24hours prior to the appointment via phone or email. If not you will be charged the full fee.
